The Estate lies on the top of a mountain surrounded by clouds and other mountains. There are no signs of civilization around you. The estate consists of a tower, and 4 flat areas on different elevations. Elevations 1 through 3 are used to raise crops and livestock. Each year, the uses are alternated as a form of crop rotation . The 4th elevation is used for combat training. The tower also lies on the 4th elevation. There is always smoke coming out of the top of the tower. The tower is made up of 4 levels and an observatory. The tower and all that is in it is made up of stone, wood and gears. Even items that don’t have any moving parts have gears. The first level consists of the kitchen, dining hall and the lecture hall. The kitchen is always bustling with dedicated wrights preparing the food and cleaning dishes. There are two spiral staircases in the middle of the tower that wrap around a stone column, which is always warm to the touch. The second level consists of 12 sleeping quarters for each one of you. Each room has a bed, a dresser, and a packmate , a creature in the shape of a chest. Packmates retrieve the items placed in it upon request. The workshop is on the third level. The workshop is full of dedicated wrights hammering away and heating metal. The fourth level is Arresh’s study. The walls are lined with books, there is a desk covered in books with a quill and ink, and there are more books spread out all over the floor. There are small green winged creatures that are flying around the study retrieving books from the shelves while others are putting books away. No one is allowed in the study, but you’ve seen the inside of it when the door is left open. The very top of the tower consists of the observatory. The ceiling is dome shaped and the walls are entirely made of glass. The column in between the stairs continues up through the ceiling. At the far end of the room, there is a large telescope that extends through an opening in the glass wall with several wheel handles . A wheel handle to the left of the telescope seat rotates the entire room. Throughout the entire house, there are two iron defenders at each level. Most of the time, they are just laying by the side of the staircase. But once it’s time to rest, they stand at attention and make sure that no one leaves their sleeping quarters. There are two more creatures that are in the estate. The first is the expeditious messenger. This catlike, winged creature is often the one who comes to summon you to gather when Arresh wants to meet with you for a combat training session or a a lecture. While he doesn’t actually speak himself, you hear Arresh’s voice through the creature. The other is the furtive filcher . He’s most active at night. You’ve caught a glimpse of him as he walked out of your room a few times. If you do you see him during the day, he’s clinging onto Arresh’s leg.
All these creatures do Arresh’s bidding, and seem to know what he wants without him ever asking for it.
